Praised by the New York Times for his “haunting and ravishing” artistry, Israeli violinist Yuval Herz made his Lincoln Center debut in 2014 as an honoured laureate of the America-Israel Cultural foundation. He is the recipient of the Audience Prize in Israelʼs prestigious Aviv Competition, and winner of both Israel's Claremont Award and the New England Conservatory's Merit Award.
Yuval Herz is a versatile musician. He regularly performs with the Dresden Staatskapelle Orchestra and is fascinated with the opera repertoire of Mozart, Puccini, Wagner and Strauss. As a guest leader, he was most recently invited to perform with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He has worked with conductors Herbert Blomstadt, Vladimir Jurowaski, Daniel Barenboim, Krzysztof Penderecki, Michael Stern, Ton Koopman, Steven Sloane, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Michael Sanderling and Omer Meir Welber.
An avid chamber musician, Yuval Herz has shared the stage in collaboration with such renowned artists as Gary Hoffman, Amihai Grosz, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Eckart Runge, Viviane Hagner, Roger Tapping, Samuel Rhodes, Marcy Rosen and many others. He performs and tours regularly as a member of the Manhattan Chamber Players, represented by Arts Management Group. Yuval is a musician for Krzyzowa Music.
Born in Jerusalem in 1989, Yuval Herz received his Master’s degree and Diploma at the New England Conservatory, studying with Donald Weilerstein. He holds a Bachelorʼs degree with high honours from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where he studied with Haim Taub and Michael Gaisler.
